Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet mess (spills, stains) in one session without the need to change devices. They can also save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's among the easiest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you running with a clean, complete dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in no time at all.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can cleans up a mess and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops spin at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a variety of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly app that lets you pick the exact kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.
For instance, you could opt for the robot to take care of a thorough clean-up in the kitchen and living rooms but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models can't. Its only drawback is that it can smash into walls and other objects at full speed - but a quick glance at the cleaning history in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and what obstacles it's avoided.
A handy LCD screen on the docking station informs you when maintenance jobs must be completed like emptying the debris tray and rinsing its dirty water tank. It also mixes detergent into the water tank by itself with a 600ml of eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time, with the mop capable of running for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode and the vacuum capable of running for 136 minutes in standard mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. You can view the complete cleaning details within the app, which is well laid out and easily understood although we would like to be able to differentiate between a vacuum and mop and vacuum clean when examining a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum and mop is the most up-to-date version. It's not like the model from last year, this one features a double agitator in its mopping pad, which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pull up small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could be unable to pick up.
The Roborock model, just like the other two models I tested is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it avoid obstacles such as walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and determine whether they are a wall or another surface. It can then change its path automatically and clean the objects without missing a step.
It's the most expensive model I've tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is eye catching, and it only has three physical buttons. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning mop button, which doubles as a child-lock, and a home-button to take the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin auto-refills.
The only downside I've discovered with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to take the mount off to wash it manually. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and that could cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can configure and manage these using the Roborock app, which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's life. You'll have to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with cutting-edge features, high suction power, and advanced mowing capabilities. Its intelligent design allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while also saving time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful choices available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair, crumbs and other dry debris. It also has a high-quality mop that makes hard floors spotlessly clean, even without a wet pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet when in operation with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.

It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and skip carpeted areas or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.
The app is easy to use and intuitive, and the X40 is equipped with many clever features that are easy to configure. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, alter modes, look at floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress and notify you when it is finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous features that make it a perfect option for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin, and clean mop pads before refilling them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It also can detect when the mop pad is full and notify you before it gets overflowing, reducing the need for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. However, it has a number of characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature of its mops, uses two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. robot vacuum cleaners best is more than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can remove pet hair and smaller dirt particles - as well as picking up spills and wet spots.
Its mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after each use. This is a fantastic feature since it prevents the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and also makes mop systems more efficient. This is a feature we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuum and mop models and it could be a useful method of keeping your home clean for longer.
There's a wealth of options available which include the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a variety of preferences. These can be set via the app or buttons on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and offers many options for customising the cleaning process, and there are a lot of functions that other robots don't include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles instead of relying on a manual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most fashionable robots we've seen in the market, with metallic and white colors that looks elegant and classy. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this listing but it's not excessively heavy. It feels solid and well-built. The mopping design is also excellent, and the double rotating mops work well on hard floors as well as in corners. They can also extend to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice feature.
